Embrace the Camera: Random iPhone pictures edition

I really did try to think of a more clever way to title this post but it just didn't come to me. I have been seeing on other people's blogs the trend of posting a bunch of old photos from their phone and I thought it'd be fun to join in! Plus, I think I participated in the whole Embrace the Camera thing one time when I am supposed to do it weekly. Maybe I'll start doing it more... Until then, here are a few little snippets from the last couple of months...

From summer MDO at church... This is what Micah looked like almost every time I picked him up. No idea how he sleeps through all of the noise but it is so precious

This little lady LOVES her watermelon!

Want to make David's day? Lemon heads and lime wedges are the way to his heart.

Oh dear. She is a mini-me

An example of her newfound independence

I'm really super excited about my new wall collage! Don't tell me they aren't straight. Please. You don't even want to know how many holes there are behind those frames because I am such a perfectionist.

This one makes his daddy, grandpas, and uncles proud-- not only is it an aggie hat, but a Titleist one

Look closely at the forehead. What a boy.

Embrace the camera

So I've seen a few people post "embrace the camera" posts on Thursdays and I decided to join in on the fun. Click hereto see the mama-blogger that started it and why. Her whole point is that we moms need more pictures WITH our kids instead of OF our kids because they might want to look back someday and know that we were actually there, you know, with them. So anyway, I can't promise that there is always going to be a picture with me in it and I definitely can't promise that I am going to do this every week, but I can promise that I am going to try to remember to do it and that I when I do, I am going to post pictures that I might not otherwise post but that I want to remember.

So, here goes Embrace the Camera round 1: Outtakes edition...

I love how I can take 180 pictures in 5 minutes to only get one good one. I actually hate that but i think its funny. The even funnier thing is to look back at all of the reject pictures. I'd, of course, like to remember the moment I am photographing as the sweet and cheesy picture, but lets be honest, most of those moments really look like this:

Really, mom? Is this what you wanted? I am standing here with my arm around Laurel like you wanted but I am NOT going to smile

I get an idea in my head of a picture I want of the kids and it NEVER turns out right. Why? Well perhaps because they are 2 and 10 months and it is difficult to get 2 babies to cooperate for pictures. Maybe someday I'll let go of having my "perfect picture" moments. Until then...

Join me in embracing the camera!
