Do you have one of these?

The Boon Squirt

If you have a baby that is in the eating baby food stage and you do not have one of these, leave your house immediately and go buy one. Or buy one online here. Yes they are really just that cool.

Ok so they might not be a necessity but they sure do make feeding while out a lot easier!

I wanted to get Micah a baby pool for the summer...

... and I ended up with this:

It is the Little Tikes "Wade Lagoon". David and I decided that he deserves it since he has been such a good big brother. :) I can't wait until it gets here, he is going to LOVE it!

You know, just in case...

... she comes early. Right now, Laurel's c-section is scheduled for the day after Easter. BUT, just in case she decided to make her debut early, she needed an Easter outfit!

How cute is that? Thank you Suzu and Nordstrom Rack. And DKNY Baby.

Battle of the bargain diapers

First off, losing the paci has been too easy for Micah. He gave it up on Friday and hasn't mentioned it since Sunday. It takes him a little longer to fall asleep but other than that, he is done!

Moving on, I have been on a hunt for the last couple of months for good bargain diapers. I am tired of paying for Huggies but I am not ready to potty train so bargain it is.

Here are the contenders so far:

Huggies

HEB brand

Luvs

Target Brand

The Run down:

Huggies:
By far my favorite of all diapers but ridiculously priced at around $.38 per diaper. I prefer Huggies over Pampers anyday but am tired of paying for them.

HEB Brand:
Here, everything is not better because their diapers are certainly not. I found that I had to change Micah much more frequently with them because they leaked. However, they are cheap cheap and with their in store coupons, you can usually get them for $.10 per diaper. Personally, the savings aren't worth it.

Luvs:
I know a lot of people swear by Luvs, but I found them very similar to HEB diapers. The overall design is very similar to Pampers so if you are a Pampers fan, you might have more luck than I did with Luvs. We had leakage issues so even though they are cheap (around $.26 per diaper), not worth the savings.

Target brand: the winner!! I have been so happy with Target diapers. They have the same design as Huggies and to me, they are no different. We haven't had any leaking problems and they are super cheap at around $.20 per diaper (without coupons). They are also super cute with polka dots on them.

I have also heard that Costco diapers are wonderful but we haven't used them so I don't know either way.

We are going to stick with Target diapers.

My new friend

I made a new friend this week... her name is miss mac. Having always been friends with Mr. PC, being friends with miss mac is a whole new experience for me. Like all true friendships, we get very frustrated and sometimes angry with each other but most of the time we get along.

If you have any friends like miss mac and would like to impart on me your wisdom about such friendships, I would take any advice I can get. Until then, I am just glad I figured out how to download this blog editing software and make a post! I would add a picture or a fun video clip but I can't figure out how to do that yet.

...ding dong...

No, that is not my nickname, but instead the sound of the doorbell! (I am creating imagery here) Isn't it so exciting? That, my friends, is the sound of online shopping! Except when it is the sounds of the Comcast people showing up unannounced and asking to come inside to look at your modem, but that's another story for another time. Anyways, since it is so hard to get out with a little one, I have become online shopping savvy. Ebay is my favorite. I even have my auction winning strategy. My favorite part of online shopping is when the fedex lady comes to the door and rings the doorbell (as long as it is when Micah isn't asleep... then it annoys me that she doesn't read the "Shh Baby Sleeping" sign) and I get to open my package. It's like opening a present! I bring the box in and (if he's at home) David gives me the look that says "seriously, you've bought something else online?" And then I give him my little smile used to work but isn't working so much anymore. I've also learned how to find some awesome coupons and deals online just by googling _____ coupon. The ____ is whatever website I am on. So, if you don't really online shop, I recommend it. It is so much fun! I, however, am probably going to start cutting back. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite sites as of late:
www.ebay.com
www.closetomyheart.com (scrapbooking)
www.thesoftlanding.com
www.diapers.com (way more than just diapers and they always have coupons circulating)

www.retailmenot.com
www.couponcabin.com
