Welcome Baby Levi

I don't have a lot of pictures but we are so excited to welcome another member of the family! Kevin and Audrey had baby Levi and he is absolutely precious! We are so in love and the kids are THRILLED to have another cousin! I can't believe that by the end of the year, the grandkid count on the Saxe side will be 5!

Field Trips are BACK! {Brenham x2}

We had so much fun going on field trips last summer that we are going to do it again this summer! We have already taken 2 field trips to Brenham this summer so I am combining them for one post. The first trip we made was a couple of weeks ago. We did our usual lunch at Must Be Heaven with Grand Joyce, Daddy Jack and Aunt Kathy and then headed to College Station to spend the night and go swimming the next day. These kiddos are so blessed to have so many GREAT-grand parents. We are very blessed that GJ and DJ have been such a big part of Micah and Laurel's life. Our lunch dates are always fun!

The next trip was just last week and me and the kids left early so we could go to Blue Bell before lunch. Micah is such a boy and loves the Blue Bell tour so he can see all of the machines. All Laurel really cares about is the ice cream at the end. If you are looking for a fun outing for summer, you should definitely visit Blue Bell. It is free for kids 5 and under and that includes ice cream at the end of the tour. When we got to the end to have our ice cream, Suzu was there waiting for us! The kids stuck with strawberry but I tried red velvet for the first time and I highly recommend it if you are a fan of red velvet cake and cream cheese icing. 

After Blue Bell, we headed over to Must Be Heaven to meet Grand Joyce, Daddy Jack, Aunt Kathy AND our special visitor Laura Jean! LJ is my cousin who lives in NYC so it was an extra special treat to get to see and visit with her. The kids haven't stopped talking about her since.

Welcome Baby Charlotte

I'm just a wee bit behind on my blogging these days! On March 4th, my sister and Danny welcomed sweet baby Charlotte into their family! I had the privilege of staying in the labor room with her the whole time again like I did when Sadie was born. Big thanks to Mimi for staying home with Laurel, Micah and Sadie so I could be there. It was one of the most amazing experiences to be a part of.  Since Nat is the family photographer, I stepped in and photographed the experience from them. No pressure, right? Here are a few of the labor/delivery pictures...

The next morning, the kids could not wait to meet their new cousin! It also happened to be Nat's 30th birthday so we picked up Suzu and Sadie, got some cupcakes and balloons and headed to the hospital. Sadie was so excited to meet her new sister that she literally lost it when they would hand the baby to her right NOW! Laurel was and is still so in love with her sweet baby cousin. Since Micah was at school he and David got to go visit that afternoon. My boys sure do love babies! Welcome to the world, baby Charlotte! We love you!

Welcome Baby Wyatt

We are so excited that baby Wyatt is finally here! I knew that the kids would be excited to meet their new cousin but I had no idea they would be so enthralled with him, it was quite precious. He arrived on Wednesday evening. David and I got to see him right after he was born but we waited to take the kids until Thursday after school/MDO.

Micah insisted upon wrapping up his old cowboy boots "that he outgrewed" to give to baby Wyatt. I am so proud of him, he thought of that all on his own and was so excited. He also picked out the wrapping.

When we got there, they had just taken Wyatt to get a shot. Micah gave Kev his present while we waited for the nurse to bring Wyatt back.

Little Miss Sassy pants was being very sweet just was not too keen on picture taking at this moment.

Then in came baby Wyatt...





It was so sweet to see how excited the kids were to meet him, hold him, kiss and snuggle him. They are going to be the best cousins to their new little cousin! I think that Laurel was pretty sure he was her baby and was not happy when we had to leave!















Then I got my turn for some Wyatt snuggles. We are so in love with this precious boy!

Poor Mimi didn't get very much holding time with Micah and Laurel around, all they wanted to do was hold and love on him!

BIG congrats to Kev and Audrey! We love Wyatt and cannot wait to watch him grow!

Summer Wrap Up

Our last 2 weeks of summer have been packed full of fun. It all of a sudden hit me that after Labor Day, there will be no more swimming, no more splash pad, no more a lot of fun summer things that we have done. So, we enjoyed the last bit of summer that we had as much as we possibly could! We...

...finished up Super Hero Gymnastics class...

We swam...

... and swam and swam and swam... and did a few hand stands in the water...

... We visited Noah's Ark not one not two but THREE times (with friends and family)...

... which included Laurel conquering her fear of the slide...

...and becoming borderline obsessed with it (all it took was big brother holding her hand)...

... We really really enjoyed our 3 trips to Noah's Ark...

... We splashed and splashed and splashed at the splash pad with friends...

... and then we ended the week with Pre-K orientation and a back to school hair cut for the big guy!

I can't believe that summer is over, we have truly had such a FUN summer! I know I am going to miss Micah like crazy when he starts Pre-K next week but I am so glad that I got to enjoy him all summer long. We are looking forward to a fun Labor Day weekend and first day of Pre-K on Tuesday!

{I will not cry... I will not cry... I will not cry...}

Cousin Love

Once upon a time, sweet Sadie Jane entered our lives. Everyone was ecstatic about the new addition except for one little lady. Laurel wasn't sure about this new person and how much attention she seemed to get. Somewhere along the way, Laurel got over herself and has become totally obsessed with Sadie. No lie, the biggest fit I have ever seen her throw was leaving MDO on Tuesday because we walked out with Nat Nat and Sadie and when they went the opposite direction to their car, she totally lots it. Screamed and cried all the way to pick up Micah. When he got in the car, he looked at her and said "Mommy, what is wrong with Laurel? She has big tears!" and then she started up again with "SAAAAAADIE!!!!!!" After this episode I called Nat and demanded a play date this week! She and Sadie came over this morning and spent the day with us. Micah wanted to take Sadie for a ride in the Jeep so we let him "tow" his wagon which he thought was super cool. Sadie LOVED riding in the wagon and was so smiley that Laurel decided she wanted to ride in the wagon too!

 We cruised all over the neighborhood and then headed to the park. Fun was had by all and all 3 of them were worn out by the time we cruised home for lunch.

They all napped while Nat and I worked on birthday party planning for Sadie's first birthday and Micah and Laurel's joint super hero bash (details coming soon). When Sadie woke up and it was time to leave, it was quite the event. Micah and Laurel climbed into her car and hugged and kissed on her and begged for them to stay. We need to be having cousin play dates more often!
