The Pefect Swaddle

First of all, I just want to say that the word swaddle is a funny word, isn't it? It is very funny to type. It reminds me of the word waddle which reminds me of being pregnant which makes me smile. Anway, for the past 2 1/2 months, I have been working to perfect my art in creating the pefect swaddle. Why? Because when Micah is swaddled pefectly, he sleeps forever! Lately, he has been giving us at least 10 hours at night, sometimes more.

So here it is. My secret to the perfect swaddle (really a combination of secrets that I have taken from others):
1) A large blanket (a large stretchy blanket is best... Petunia Pickle Bottom swaddling blakets ROCK--> Thanks Aunt Nat Dog)
2) Arms wrapped tightly by the sides (feet don't matter as much)
3) The DUDU wrap (Dr. Harvey Karp who wrote "Happiest Baby on the Block"--> Down, Up, Down, Up)

Here he is right after I swaddled him before his nap. He was just so excited that I had him wrapped so tight in the perfect swaddle.

Here he is after I unwrapped him to wake him up. I know I know, never wake a sleeping baby. BUT, he had been napping for over 3 hours and it was time to wake up! I made mulitple attempts of waking him nicely (turning on the light, talking to him softly, etc), but I had to pick him up and unwrap him before he opened his eyes. He was just so nice and cozy!
