Micah and I decided on a whim to travel up to Steamboat to relax for a few days. We are so blessed that we even have this as as option! As long as I can remember, this has been my favorite place in the world and defintely my favorite place to relax. My and David's families have been traveling here together and separately for the last 10+ years.
So, Micah flew on an airplane for the first time on Friday and he did amazing! He didn't make so much as a peep. I thought for sure he would at least have a hard time with the air pressure, but, he didn't. I think it was more traumatic for me than it was for him because I was so nervous about the germs. Going through security was a little scary. They even made me take Micah's shoes off! Luckily, we had Aunt Audrey to help us. We got her a pass to get her through security, otherwise I don't know how I would've done that alone.
My mom amd dad met us in Denver and then we drove the beautiful drive through the mountains to Steamboat. David's parents, Mimi and Bubba, were already in Steambaot. He is one spoiled baby!

I love my Mimi and Suzu
Now, Mimi and Bubba have gone home so Micah and I are here with just my parents.

I love Suzu and Teddy
I am so enjoying this opportunity to just do nothing and relax. We have been going on walks, eating delicious food, laying around, and of course doing a little shopping. We took Micah to the pool, which he enjoyed much more than his past trips to the pool. I think it was because we got him some super cool sunglasses. We also took a hike to Fish Creek Falls. Micah was looking around at all the new things he had never seen before. It was so fun. My hubby is so wonderful to let me go on vacation while he is stuck at home working. I think that Micah is going to love Steamboat just like his Mommy and Daddy!

I've got my hat and my shades, I'm ready to do some swimming!

Let's go hiking!

Fish Creek Falls

Woo hoo! Steamboat!
Fish Creek Falls was one of my favorite places when we lived in Colorado! My parents have this home video of us hiking to the falls...I was probably about 5 and Ted was 2 1/2...he's carrying a stick and singing the "Hi-Ho" song from Snow White. Only he never quite makes it past the Hi Ho part. I'm glad you and Micah are having such a good time there!

ReplyDeleteThat is so weird!! My dad and step mom live in Steamboat- I know all of those places in your pictures!! I have been to Fish Creek many times. Where do you stay when you go there? I am going in two weeks- you should come back :)
