While eating lunch today, Micah decided to take matters into his own hands, literally. I guess that I wasn't feeding the little piglet fast enough, because out of no where, he lurched forward and grabbed his bowl full of apples and apricots out of my hand. His fine motor skills
are still that of a 6 month old so as you can imagine... apples and apricots went everywhere. I was a little shocked because he had never done this before so I just continued feeding him. Then, again, he lurched forward. This time, though, he went for the spoon. I don't think he realized all that goes into getting the spoon into the food and then into his mouth. Once he had the spoon, I decided I would just watch and see what happened. What was I thinking? He first started flinging the spoon... yes apples and apricots everywhere. Then, he proceeded to chew on the spoon which inevitably ended up in him gagging himself. Maybe next time he'll just let me feed him as usual. If not, it was quite an entertaining lunch time (not counting the mess afterwards).
so love when they take interest in getting it on their own. you could give him snacks that melt easily in his mouth for him to pick up and eat! GREATNESS!
