Weekend of FIRSTS...

On Saturday, Laurel had cereal (with a spoon) for the FIRST time! She is still not crazy about it but is getting more used to it with each feeding. Isn't it funny that we learn to eat with this mushy, icky, cereal stuff? I find is amusing. I would think that it would scar babies for life to hate food because it really does look gross. Someone doesn't seem to agree with me, though...

On Saturday, Micah did not climb out of his Big Boy Bed at nap time AND bedtime for the FIRST time! Thank you, sticker chart.

On Saturday, I sewed for the FIRST time! I got a totally awesome and amazing sewing machine for my birthday last week and have been scared to turn it on. Saturday morning, I took a lesson at Sew Crafty and it was so much fun! Audrey came with me and we had a blast. Abby, our teacher, was awesome and told us we had a "knack for sewing". :) We, of course, then spent the rest of the day sewing. I can't show you all of our projects because 2 of them are gifts for some sweet little babies on the way so I'll just show you what we made to accessorize L for Kevin and Audrey's wedding (now less than a week away!)...

At Sew Crafty

My little sewing nook I created that I LOVE (in our guest room)

My desk drawer with all my tools

Here is a picture of her dress... her Mimi already spoils her rotten

Matching booties (and I also made a matching paci clip)

I can't take all the credit... Audrey was a pro at the booties, I am terrible at sewing on a curve but I am getting better with practice. I love this new hobby and can't wait to start on my list of upcoming projects!

  1. I'm creeping on your blog via days in the woods...I got a sewing machine for Christmas last year and totally need to take lessons. It intimidates me, but my mom has a knack for it and I always loved the homemade costumes, dresses, crafts...

let me know if you go to sew crafty again!
