Meet Sadie!

I don't know how I am just now getting around to posting this but I guess it has been a busy few days! I had such a privilege last week of getting to be a part of my sweet niece's birth! I was designated as photographer so I got to stay in the labor room for the whole experience! Nat was diagnosed with preeclampsia at her Dr. appointment last Tuesday so Dr S (same amazing Dr. that delivered my babies) thought it was best to induce her Wednesday morning. Mimi drove over at the crack of dawn and picked up the kiddies so that I could go to the hospital. The day flew by and before we knew it, she was pushing and there was Sadie! I feel so honored to get to be a part of such a special moment for them. It was the coolest thing I have ever experienced and I am so so very proud of my sister for working so hard. I have over 300 pictures from Sadie's first few days so I had to just pick my faves:

This was the part of the day where things seemed to be slow moving and we thought Sadie might not debut until late that night.

THEN, Nat's nurse checked her expecting her to be around a 7 and she was indeed a 10 and it was time to push. This was a sweet moment of Suzu praying over Natalie and Danny.

This is Teddy when he walked in and we said "it's time".

So while I do have pictures of what happened over the next hour, I'll spare you those. :) In no time at all and only 45 minutes of pushing, Sadie popped out!

I think this picture says it all. It isn't really in focus but my sister's expression is perfection. It totally captured the moment of Natalie seeing her baby girl for the first time. Pure joy.

"I do not approve, I want to go back to the dark, warm place"

Day 2: this is the first time I got to hold Sadie. I love being an aunt!

Sweet new family

Day 3: This is Uncle David's first time to hold Sadie and Laurel's first time to meet her. We had to explain to Laurel that this was a REAL baby and not a doll. She clearly did not understand. Doesn't she look huge compared to Sadie? It's like all of a sudden she isn't a baby anymore.

At first, Micah showed no interest but once he warmed up, he couldn't wait to get his hands on his new cousin!

Precious Sadie, you were so prayed for and are such a gift from God to your wonderful parents. I cannot wait to watch you grow. You are so loved! CLICK HERE to see Natalie's blog and more on Sadie.
