How about a little catching up? Last week, we had VBS every day and then this week has been July 4th festivities and potty training so I got a little behind!
Our last field trip Wednesday was a couple of weeks ago and David took the day off to go to Moody Gardens with us. I have not been there is a VERY long time but it was definitely nothing like I remembered it. The kids had so much fun and with the recent trip to Seaworld and thus their new obsession with water life/ocean/aquariums, the aquarium pyramid was a HUGE hit...

Perhaps my favorite thing about the aquarium exhibit is that you get to see each habitat from multiple different views. Here they were looking at the seal/sea lion habitat from above water
... and then here they are looking at it again from under water!

They had a neat tank set up where you could touch everything in it.
Laurel was not too sure about this part but Micah (and I) thought it was amazing. You walk through a tunnel and are surrounded by aquarium (sides and above you). It was full all sorts of fish, coral and SHARKS, which Micah loved. His favorite part, though, was the scuba diver that was in there taking care of the fish. We had to drag him out because he would've sat there and waved at the scuba diver all day if we had let him.

This guy had left his usually "spot" according to the person who works there and was hanging out right next to the exit so we got to see him close up...
After the rainforest, we headed over to the 3D theater and watched a movie about insects. Laurel slept through the whole thing, I was a bit grossed out and the boys loved it.
Afterwards, we had lunch and ice cream and headed home.
We already can't wait to go back to Moody Gardens. It is only an hour away and so much fun!
