Rockport/Port Aransas

Weekend before last, we headed south for a fun weekend away with Mimi and Bubba! They have a house in Rockport that we haven't been to in years. The last time we went, Micah had just turned 1! Bubba and the boys predominantly use it for fishing trips but we had tons of fun using it as a weekend getaway and hope to get to go more often. As soon as we arrived on Friday, Micah couldn't wait to get in the kayak with David and go cruise through the canals.

On Saturday, we rode the ferry over to Port Aransas for the day for the kids FIRST TRIP TO THE BEACH. Ever. They are 3 and 5 and we live less than an hour from the coast and they have never been to the beach. I know, it's pretty pathetic. David has turned me into such a mountain person so we have taken our kids on trips to the mountains but not so much the beach. I wasn't sure what they would think about it and was surprised to see how much they LOVED it! Micah really is such a fish. He just wants to be in the water. Salt water, pool water anything. He just wants to be in the water. We all had a blast jumping in the waves and playing in the sand. Laurel wasn't a huge fan of the sea weed and salt water in her eyes but other than that she loved it too. Kevin and Audrey were in Port A visiting family for the weekend so they met up with us at the beach, too!
On our way back to Rockport, we stopped for snow cones to end a super fun day in the sun!

The little lady decided later than evening that she wanted a turn in the kayak so she and I got to take a ride together.

Thanks Mimi and Bubba for a super fun weekend!
