Bad news from the Saxe family. Our dog Cooper managed to get out of the backyard yesterday afternoon and was hit by a car and didn't make it. We're a bit of a wreck as he had truly become part of our family. It actually happened right before I got home from work, and praise God, a woman had seen him, covered him in a blanket and took him out of the road...otherwise I may have seen him. She took his collar for us and called David's cell phone which was engraved on it. If not for her, we may have never known where he was and what happened.
This is a quote that David's dad sent us that is the only way to put this into words:
“There is a deep loss and sorrow in times like this. But there could not be a lot of sorrow unless there was first a lot of happiness. Everyone time I think about you I will smile.”
It will be impossible to think of Cooper without smiling. We appreciate your prayers in this yucky time.
That is really, really sad. I'm so sorry! I can imagine how that would feel. We're thinking of ya!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear this sad news about Cooper. I am glad I got to see him last weekend in the baby's room. That leaves a good mental image in my mind when I think of him. You all were such good parents to him and that is what made him such a happy guy.
ReplyDeleteHi Dave & Ally. Checking in to see if you've welcomed little Mr. Saxe to the planet yet, and I see this note about your dear friend Cooper. I'm am sorry to read of your loss, and moved by the act of the good Samaritan. You're in my heart -
