A new kitchen

The last week has been a bit crazy around here... and a bit messy! We have been wanting to replace the countertops in our kitchen since we moved into our house a little over a year ago. We had been putting it off and then we finally decided to do it about a month ago. If you had asked me last Thursday how I felt about the new counter tops, you may have gotten a look but ask me now and I am absolutely delighted! I just wasn't anticipating all that goes into "remodeling". It was a huge mess, noisy, smelly, and quite difficult with a baby. BUT, our kitchen is fabulous!!! I had no idea what a difference it would make. Here are some before and after pictures. See if you can figure out what all we did (other than the countertops-- it's like one of those activities in a kid's book: what's different from the before to the after)?

WOW! After looking at the pictures, I can see the change even more! I feel so blessed that we were able to do this. I love my kitchen! Here is what we did: granite counters, hardware on cabinets and drawers, sink, faucet, paint. Phew! What a week it has been. The only thing we did ourselves was paint and hardware, thanks mom and dad for all your help with that (David and I couldn't have done that by ourselves-- at least not that quick)!
