Happy Thanksgiving!
David and I have so much to be thankful for this year, number one on the list is of course our happy healthy little guy! We are so blessed to have had a healthy pregnancy and now and healthy baby!
We left on Tuesday to go to Steamboat to celebrate Thanksgiving with my side of the family. This included Suzu, Teddy, Aunt NatNat, and Danny. We flew in to Denver and then drove the 3 hours to Steamboat. Micah is such a good air traveler! This is his 3rd trip where he had to fly and he handled it like a pro! There was hardly any snow on the ground but it felt so nice outside! It was nice to have a few days to just relax and eat food.
My personal favorite
All smiles Fun with Aunt NatNat
I even fit in an 11 mile run while up there. It was the strangest thing when it started snowing on me half way through. I'm pretty sure I'll never be running in the snow again, it was almost fun... almost. All that matters is that I survived without any falls.
Since this was Micah's first time to see snow, we made sure to put him in his snowsuit (yes, he has a snowsuit even though we live in Texas) and let him play in the snow...
The whole family in the snow Snow is fun!
Mom, my boot fell off, COOOLD! Snow isn't as fun anymore
It ended up snowing a lot while we were there which brings us to the "adventures" part of the story. We packed up and planned to leave Saturday midmorning to head back to Denver to fly home. It was snowing pretty hard and there was a "winter advisory"... this is not good, especially because we had to drive through Rabbit Ears Pass and the Eisenhower tunnel (as my dad kept reminding us). As luck would have it, it took us over 6 hours to get to Denver and we arrived just in time to miss our flight. Since we weren't the only ones who this had happened to, we were way down on the list for the later flight so we had to stay the night and catch a flight the next morning at... 6 AM!!!! Yep, after making Micah sit in a car seat for 6 hours, we got to wake him up at 4 am. That was fun. From 4 am until we pulled into our driveway around 11, he had 1 diaper change, 1 bottle, and 20 minutes of sleep. Why? Because we ran out of everything and even though I am a big planner, I didn't plan on staying an extra day. And as far as the sleep goes, I have no idea how he stayed awake that long, I was exhausted, I don't know how he wasn't. Surprisingly, he only screamed a few times in the flight and was otherwise happy as long as he was looking out the window or being bounced. Needless to say, we won't be making the winter drive from Denver to Steamboat anymore! Other than the adventuresome homecoming, the trip was very fun and relaxing!
Even though the Aggies got totally demolished, I had to include these pictures of our little Aggie family!
You guys are such a beautiful family! Looks like you had a fun, eventful Thanksgiving. We would definately like to see you all soon!!
