Laurel turned 9 months old on New Year's Eve! We can't believe how fast the time is flying by! Our little lady has changed so much since 8 months. She is still such a sweet and happy baby and as of recently, she shows more of her personality in pictures! She is more and more giggly every day and is always laughing at her big brother.
She doesn't ever sit still, unless she is in her room playing with toys. I filled up the baskets in her room with her new toys she got for Christmas and she loves to sit in there and pull the baskets out and play. That doesn't last for long, though. Before I know it, she is crawling around the house to find someone to play with. She does not like to be left alone at all. She is definitely a crawling pro, now. It always surprises me how fast she gets places. She is also getting better at cruising around the furniture and pushing her push toys. She'll even let go and stand by herself for a few seconds! She doesn't seem to be afraid of much and is certainly not afraid of falling so I know that she'll be walking before I know it!
She also loves to play with her baby dolls
She finds a way to pull up on everything... even the walls
One of her favorite things right now is her doorway jumper. She hasn't been a big fan until recently. She loves to bounce! She has also started getting a little attitude so she'll be loving something one minute and then hate it the next and she's not afraid to let you know. She has the best fake cry I've ever heard because she fakes me out all the time when she just wants to be picked up.
Another change this month is her talking. She is saying "ma-ma" and "da-da" consistently and seems to know who she is talking about. If she falls, her distress cry is always "MA-MA!!!!!" and as soon as Daddy walks in the door, he gets a "da-da!" It is so precious to watch see her trying to communicate more. Other than those two, we hear a lot of babbling and squawking throughout the day. She also loves to mimic sounds and faces.
Not much has changed with her eating or sleeping lately. She is still a big sleeping taking 2 long naps and sleeping from 8-8:30 every day. She is still eating 3 times a day and getting 4 bottles. I have tried to introduce some of the chunkier baby food but she gags and won't eat it. I think she might be a little tricky to transition to table food because she is so weird about texture. She started eating puffs this month and loves those, though! She also got her first tooth last week! It is just a little sprout right now but I am hoping that more are following. She is also still getting her reflux medicine (Prevacid) but should wean off of it in the next month or so.
We went for her 9 month check up and Dr. T said she is doing great! It's hard to believe that her next check up is when she is a year old!
9 Month stats:
Height: 30 inches (99%!!!!)
Weight: 21 lbs, 5 oz (87%)
I just went and looked up Micah's stats at this age and they are the same exact length... Micah was just a tad bit chunkier. :)
I LOVE her little tutu!!
