If you read this blog often, you know that our favorite place in the world is Steamboat. We are fortunate enough to get to go at least once and sometimes twice a year. We left Christmas day to go with Suzu, Teddy, Aunt Nat, and Uncle Dan. I got a nifty little point a shoot camera for Christmas so I didn't have to bring my big camera and thus took a lot more pictures! Laurel decided while in Steamboat that she is no longer scared of cameras! This is very exciting because I finally feel like I am capturing her true personality which is so adorable.
Right after arriving, Laurel wasn't too crazy about the cold weather. She literally shivered all week. Micah, on the other hand, was happy in a t-shirt all week. We'd have to beg him to wear his jacket.

Our second night there, David and I got to have a date at our favorite restaurant thanks to Nat and Dan! They made our reservation and gave us a gift certificate for Christmas!

We didn't do a lot of skiing but we did get out there...

This was Laurel's first time to sit in a high chair at a restaurant... she was happy the whole time just munching on puffs.

David and Micah with the snowman they made... just kidding... they just took their picture next to it.

Though Laurel wasn't crazy about the cold, she LOVED playing in the snow and wanted to crawl around in it.

Thank you Suzu and Teddy for a super fun trip to our favorite place!
As though flying with 2 kids isn't tricky enough, our flight home was delayed by an hour and a half and then we got to board the plane only to sit for another hour and a half before taking off. We were so blessed to have lots of hands to help and then kids ended up doing great. Being in the bulkhead certainly helped as well as some nifty kid headphones that Suzu found for Micah-those were a lifesaver!
I wonder if Laurel was afraid of your big camera and she just does better with your smaller camera!! She is so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteToo bad we didn't run into you guys because we were there at the exact same time!! Crazy! I'm curious- what is your favorite restaurant in Steamboat? We haven't found one we just love. Maybe we're just not trying the right things or something.
ReplyDeleteChelsea-- our absolute favorite restaurant in Steamboat is Cafe Diva. My other faves are Mahogany Ridge and Mambo... but Mambo is kind of hit and miss. When we went last week, it was awesome.
ReplyDeleteI had the same idea as Nat&Dan. Gave my sister/BIL a El Tiempo gift certificate and a night of baby sitting.
ReplyDeleteThe baby sitting was redeemed on 1.2.11, which was as much a gift for me as it was for them.
