Easter Weekend

David and I got to celebrate our anniversary a couple of weeks early this past weekend. Mimi and Bubba took the kids on Friday and we got the whole weekend for just the 2 of us. David planned out the whole thing and it was so fun! We stayed at the Hotel Granduca which was amazing-- everything was so nice! On Friday night, we went to eat at Damien's. Neither of us had ever been there and it was SO GOOD. We will definitely go back. Saturday morning we slept in, because we don't get to do that very often and then went to my favorite, Barnaby's, for breakfast. Their pancakes are amazing. I love them. We relaxed most of the day on Saturday but had to stop in at Crave for a cupcake because our hotel was within walking distance and I just couldn't be that close and not have one! Saturday night, we went to the Hobbit Cafe for dinner, Anvil for drinks after, and then went to the William Fitzsimmons concert at Fitzgeralds. David is kind of obsessed with him and now I understand why. The concert was really good! Pretty much everywhere we went over the weekend was somewhere that I had never been before so that was really fun. David gets to go to a lot of these places a lot for work so it was nice to finally get to join in on the fun. I have such a sweet hubby-- he spoiled me all weekend. Now if only I can convince him to make this staycation a yearly tradition. :) I don't have any pictures from the weekend because it was just the 2 of us and we didn't want to have the honeymoon pictures of just one of us by ourselves or the zoomed in ones of us trying to take a picture of ourselves.

On Sunday, we went to church and then headed out to Kingwood to spend Easter with David's family. As nice as it is to have time alone, I miss the kids! We got to see the kids go through their Easter baskets, which were a big hit!

About to take off... so close... more on that later...

Then it was time for the Easter egg hunt. Since David and I have kids, we are no longer considered kids so we get to hide the eggs. All the other are still kids. We had fun finding tricky places for the big kids' eggs.

Good job big kids!

Micah loved hunting for eggs but even more, he LOVED opening them up to see what was inside! He got lots of candy, stickers, and coins. He couldn't wait to come home and add his coins to his piggy bank.

I was sad to see such a fun weekend come to an end. As soon as we got home, though, we quickly realized it was back to real life. Laurel has some sort of virus and has has fever over 103 since getting home yesterday. Poor girl just can't stay well!

Hope you all had a fun and relaxing Easter weekend celebrating our Savior's resurrection!
