Last week, the kids and I along with my friend Annette and her little one Camille, headed out to Camp Allen for the afternoon! We went to visit our mutual dear friend, Lauren (or Aunt Pickle as my kids call her). I have been buds with Lauren since high school and we were college roomies so any time with her (and her munchkin Eli) is a real treat! Once we got out to camp, she had packed us a delicious picnic which we enjoyed by the lake. If it sounds relaxing, it's because it most definitely was. My anxiety level was significantly lower when we were out there-- due to the craziness of Christmas cards it has been at an all time high as of late. We definitely learned that we MUST do this more often 1) because it was really fun 2) because we do not get to see Aunt Pickle nearly enough and 3) because my kids need a little bit more wilderness in them. A bug landed on Micah and he just about lost his marbles. Can't wait to go out to camp again!
