Captain America and the Cupcake

What? You never read that comic? You didn't know that those 2 actually go together? Ok fine. They don't. Other than alliteration which is what I am going with. For the past few months, I have tried my very hardest to get these kids to agree to be something that coordinates for Halloween. Jane & Tarzan, Beauty & the Beast, Batman & Catwoman, Superman & Wonderwoman, you name it, I tried it. There was no changing Micah's mind about being Captain America and Laurel wasn't really too picky she just wanted to be something pink. and she loves "pupcakes" so when I saw this little number at Old Navy it was a no brainer. Of course last week (after the costumes had already been purchased and tried on), Micah suggests they go as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. I just about died and had David not been sitting next to me as my voice of reason, I would've immediately Amazon one-clicked Peter Pan and Tinkerbell costumes.

They may not have matched but they sure did look cute! We had quite the fun filled day starting with Micah going to school in costume for the parade!

Captain America had so much fun parading around the playground with his class! After school and naps, the kids got all ready to go up to our church for First Fest which is basically your average church fall festival on steroids.

My sweet little cupcake!

I am pretty sure that here they are scheming on how to save the world

Mimi and Bubba came over beforehand so we could all ride together so I got to be in a picture!

Once we were there, we caught up with Sadie, the most adorable pig ever

Micah was all over the place. He wanted to do EVERY SINGLE THING at least once.

The little lady, on the other hand, wasn't interested in anything. In fact, she progressively got worse as the night went on. Everything was scary to her, she seemed very overwhelmed and wanted to be held most of the night. This made so much more sense when I got the call Thursday to come get her from MDO because she was running fever. It was just a nasty cold but poor thing must've been feeling awful on Wednesday night.

The only thing that made her smile was the petting zoo. Petting zoos kind of gross me out but luckily this girl's daddy is a friend to the animals and he didn't mind one bit!

These best buds discovered the bungee thing and decided they wanted to wait in the hour + line to try it out. I think they would tell you it was worth the wait!

From First Fest, we headed over to Kev and Audrey's to go trick-or-treating! We had intended on getting their earlier but the whole bungee line thing put us on the tail end of trick-or-treating but the kids still had a blast!

Yes, Laurel carried a purse instead of a typical halloween basket or bag

Wyatt's first Halloween!

By the end of the fun filled day, we were all completely wiped out! Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!

  1. I really LOVE Laurel's purse:) She and Lainie would be fast friends, unless there was some purse envy!
