Laurel's First Dance Recital

This picture sums up so much of Laurel's personality. She is not going to do something just because someone wants her to do it. She will not doing something just because everyone else is doing it. She does not like to perform although she greatly enjoys attention. She is a non-conformist and marches to the beat of her own drum. On this particular day, she did not want to dance. There was nothing that anyone could say or do that would make her dance. David came to watch and tried so hard to convince her to participate but it only made it worse. 

She finally perked up when it was over and her teacher gave her a candy cane. 

Oh my how this little bundle of spunk keeps me on my toes!
