The weekend after Christmas, David, Micah and I headed to Steamboat for some relaxing time in the mountains with Mimi, Bubba, Connor and Alex! We have never split the kids up for a trip before but we thought we'd try it out this time. Being in Steamboat in the winter with a toddler is rather challenging but with a big kid (aka a kid old enough to ski) it is fun! So, we left Laurel in College Station for some special Suzu and Teddy time and Micah Man headed to the mountains with us. We had so much fun having quality time with our big boy and spending time with family! Our first night there we made our regular trip to Fuzziwigs, the candy store, to stock up for the remainder of our trip. I don't know how we manage to spend that much in a candy store but we always do and the worst part is that we ended up going back later in the week for more...
On New Year's Eve, we enrolled Micah in ski school. He was not too crazy about it last year so we were curious to see how he liked it this year. He ended up liking it ok. When we picked him up he said he had fun but he didn't want to go back the next day. We later figured out that it wasn't skiing he disliked, but being cold and it was a COLD week. David and I even struggled skiing because it was so cold. So, we'll try again next year!
Micah did love getting out and playing in the snow (in short increments of time). He wanted to build a snow man so bad but the snow was super powdery so we didn't end up making one.
Micah couldn't wait to have a snowball fight
His favorite thing to do in Steamboat ended up being swimming. Go figure. He is such a little fish. Every afternoon we would head down to the hot tub and he would swim while we relaxed. Sitting in the hot tub while looking at the beautiful ski mountain and watching Micah swim is not too bad of a way to spend the afternoon.
As always, we had so much fun and only wish we could've stayed longer! Thanks Mimi and Bubba for another awesome trip to our favorite place!
