August 14th, 2013: After the breakfast was eaten, the uniform put on, the backpack packed and the pictures taken, we loaded up and headed to Micah's first day of school. Somewhere along the way I turned to David and said "I feel like he was born yesterday and now he is going to Kindergarten" and that pretty much sums up my emotional state this week. Everyone tells you "they grow up so fast" but you can't believe it until it happens to your own kids.
When he walked into his classroom for the first time he immediately turned around, grabbed my leg and hid his face in my skirt. Oh my stars. I *almost* picked him up and ran out of the room to take him home and start homeschooling. Just kidding, a little. He quickly perked up though and found his seat and started coloring. By the time we left the room, he was a happy camper. He is at an amazing school with an amazing teacher and I know that the year ahead is going to be a great one! I am so very proud of my brave Kindergartner!
