We have been looking forward to this trip to San Antonio all summer and it couldn't have come at a better time! I have been calling it "our last summer hurrah" for quite some time but then I looked up the meaning of the word hurrah and apparently it doesn't mean ending the summer with a shabang (which I am pretty sure is not a word) but you get the idea. The summer was almost over and it was David's birthday weekend so it made for the perfect weekend for our last summer trip! We loaded up Bubba's Suburban and left Houston on Thursday afternoon and got to San Antonio a couple of hours later. We stayed at the JW Marriott and it was AMAZING- perfect place for a family vacation. As soon as we got there, the kids couldn't wait to hit the pool... which was amazing...
Saturday, we got up and headed to Sea World! Of course fun was had by all! We saw lots of animals and shows and took breaks for splashing and snow cones in an attempt to stay cool. It was such a fun way to spend David's birthday!
{the littlest one didn't ever actually sleep in the wagon, she just took a few breaks where we thought she might}
The highlight of Sea World was getting to have a "dolphin encounter" at the end of our day. We got to hang out with Yo Yo the dolphin and pet her and feed her a fish. Laurel was (of course) too scared to feed or touch her but Micah loved it and said that she felt like a watermelon.
The rest of the trip was spent having fun and hanging out at the resort. We made s'mores, hung out on the lawn, ate yummy food and spent all day Saturday by the pool! Laurel conquered her fear of water slides and discovered her love for the lazy river.
We had such a fun long weekend in San Antonio and can't wait to go back!
Thanks Mimi and Bubba for another super fun trip!
