Are you kidding me?

I was laying in bed last night reading my "Parenting" magazine when I came across an ad for this...

Thudguard. "Infant protective safety hat"... tagline: "Learning to walk in a world of hard surfaces".

I thought surely this is a joke. Surely, it is not. I am dumbfounded. I think it is safe to say we all know those moms who think things such as this are a great idea. Micah pretty much constantly has at least 1 bruise from a fall but seems to me like he is just fine. Anyways, I found that amusing. If you let your child wear one of these, sorry for insulting you. If you have never heard of these and now want to get one, knock yourself out: click here.

I feel similar to how I did the first time I saw an infomercial for the "Snuggie".

Moving on...

This morning on the stair master, I was reading "Real Simple" (my fave) and saw this... word for word...

When life gives you lemons... add alcohol.

I thought that was funny. I didn't like any of their recipes though so I thought I would share a great recipe for homemade lemonade (that the whole family an enjoy). Just add a shot of the liquor of your choice (I would add vodka).

Lemonade:
6-8 lemons
1-2 cups of sugar
1-1/2 quarts of cold water

Juice the lemons, you need 1/2 to 1 cup of lemon juice. To make your lemons juicier, roll them on the counter before slicing or drop into boiling water.
Add 1 cup sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add cold water, adjust sugar to taste.

*Please drink responsibly*

I know I haven't blogged much lately, I feel like I don't have much to talk about. Summer has hit us full force so we haven't been busy at all. Micah gets to meet a kangaroo tomorrow though so I'll post about that soon!

  1. Lizzie and I recently made pink lemonade by simply adding a cup of cranberry juice to the above recipe! She was so proud!
We'll have to try the touch of alcohol... (Justin and me- not Lizzie!)

    Love ya!

  2. My summer feels completely opposite from yours. I feel like I don't have much going on during the school year, and then I am SOOOOO busy during the summer. I have this huge long list of things I was to do!!

And mmmmmmm that lemonade sounds yummy!! Matt and I will have to try that out.

  3. Funny story, my sister got a snuggie for her birthday. I had a huge laugh at it, but she loves it.
