Day 'O FUN!

Summer is officially here! We definitely felt summer today, in the heat and in our day o fun. Seems like summer days are just more fun than other days, even though I really dislike the heat. Anyways, today a good friend of my mom's invited a bunch of her friends and their kids/grandkids out to her brother's property. Her brother obviously does pretty well because I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. He has around 30 acres... lots of animals... a train that goes around the entire property... a guest house... a pool house... a house house... and is building a guest cottage and a chapel. It was as though we had entered "Neverland". Needless to say, we had a blast!

When we first got there, Micah explored around and we got to meet some animals (2 kangaroos, a baby deer, lemurs-- think movie Madagascar, llamas, and some others). The kangaroos were super friendly and to Micah, they were just another Riley. He wasn't intimidated at all by these bouncing creatures. He just walked right up to it and grabbed its face (like he was going to give it a kiss-- he does this with Riley).

We then got to pick berries. There are TONS of blueberry and blackberry trees/plants (?) around the property so we went for the blackberries. Poor Micah, he is such a sweaty kid! He didn't last long picking berries because he was soaked in sweat. So he got to swing on the playground (yes there is playground, did I forget to mention that?) and then visit the animals more. This time, I got to go into the Lemur cage. Micah couldn't do in because the lemurs are super friendly and like to jump on you. We didn't get any pictures, though.

Then, we took a train ride around the property. Micah wasn't all that interested in this. By this point, he had missed his nap and was hot and sweaty and you guessed it, hungry! After the train ride we went around the corner to Suzu's friend's house for lunch and swimming. I'm not sure where all of Micah's energy came from but he had a blast in the pool. They have a little baby pool that was perfect for the Micah Man. He even went under a few times and just floated to his back. Micah was super exhausted by the time we got in the car to come home and he is still asleep...
