Our pediatrician has been telling us the same thing since Laurel was diagnosed with reflux: "4 months is a magic month". She was sooo right! The days seemed long but the months really flew by. We are having a blast with our little princess! She is finally starting to feel more sturdy because she holds her head up so well so I don't feel like she is a floppy newborn anymore. She is happier and happier every day. She is rarely fussy unless she is tired, hungry, or wet (she is quite prissy about having dry diapers). She definitely doesn't act like a newborn anymore either. She is developing her own little personality. She is such a cuddle bug and gets upset if she gets ignored for too long. She gives us lots of smiles and coos and makes us work for the giggles. She loves to swing, sit in her bouncy and watch her big brother, or lay under her play gym. She hasn't started rolling yet but I have a feeling that is right around the corner. She is sleeping like a champ at night. She goes to sleep at 8 and has been waking up between 7:30 and 8. She usually takes a really solid afternoon nap (2-3 hours) and if we are on the go, she naps on the go or if we are home, she'll take a solid morning nap, too. She also dropped herself down to 4 feedings a day which makes my life very easy.
We had her 4 month check up this week and Dr. T was super happy with her growth and development thus far. She thinks that Laurel is outgrowing her reflux because she is such a happy baby all the time now! We are hoping to wean her off of her reflux meds entirely in the next couple of months. Our Dr. wants her to just outgrow her dose and then wean herself off. She also wants us to start feeing her food! That feels so soon to me but she has been getting cereal through a syringe since she was 2 months old before every feeding because of her reflux so the only difference is that now we are supposed to give it to her with a spoon. After she gets used to that, we get to start veggies and fruits!
Height: 25 3/4 inches (90%)
Head: 16 in (50%)
It is so fun to really enjoy our baby girl. We are so blessed to have 2 happy, healthy kiddos!
Jake was 25 inches at 2 months. I'm a little nervous for his new stats...
