8 Months

It should be no surprise to you that I can't believe our baby girl is 8 months old! Where has the time gone?

Laurel is such a joy and is such a happy baby! I wish that we could get pictures of her that reflect her personality but for whatever reason, she is scared of cameras. As soon as they come out, she becomes shy.

She acts less and less like a baby every day and this is largely due to her mobility. She is a crawling pro and is now pulling up and even cruising around the furniture a little bit (very slowly). She does not sit still for more than a few seconds ever. Micah used to be content to sit on the floor and play surrounded by toys. Not Laurel-- she prefers to crawl from toy to toy. Everytime I put a blanket down for her to play on, she is off of it within seconds. Micah makes sure to move all of his toys out of her path and put down things that he wants her to play with. She still loves her exersaucer but she will not stay in it for very long because she wants to move. I know that she will probably be walking before I know it!

She has become a lot more vocal in the last month. She giggles and squeals and babbles all day long. She loves to mimic sounds that Micah makes and it drives him crazy- especially when he is in the middle of a tantrum and she is squawking like he is with a big smile on her face.

Laurel loves to sit and rock with me and Micah at the end of the day and sing songs. She also loves to listen to me read books. She loves it when someone plays peek a boo with her, especially Micah. That always gets lots of giggles!

Nothing has changed with her eating or sleeping lately. She eats 3 meals a day of food and has 4 bottles. She still doesn't have teeth but is going through multiple bibs a day with drool. She is a big time sleeper taking 2 naps a day and sleeping from 8 at night until I wake her up in the morning, usually around 8:30 lately. Her naps range from 2-4 hours. No lie. There are lots of days where she takes a 2 hour morning nap and a 4 hour afternoon nap. Please don't hate me. She just needs her beauty rest.

I know at 7 months I posted that she was finally medicine free but she ended up having to go back on her Prevacid. I am bummed that she is still on medicine but know that since she is doing so well, she will grow out of needing it soon. She got sick for the first time this last week. I thought she just had a cold but after 103 fever, I took her to the Dr. and it was a double ear infection. Poor baby! She is doing much better now!

I love watching our baby girl grow and change every day. She is such a blessing to our little family!

Little Miss Thing already has an attitude

She cracks herself up
