Another project is complete! A few months ago, Laurel attempted climbing out of her crib for the first time and I half freaked out and half got excited to create her big girl room. It happened a year before I thought it would so I started pinning away on Pinterest. You can really go crazy with little girl rooms, especially with a birdie/owl theme. There is cute stuff everywhere! I finally finished putting everything together for Laurel's big girl room and I am THRILLED with how it all turned out! Her nursery was in the tiniest bedroom of our house so we decided to move her into our guest bedroom so she could have more big girl room. I am so glad that we did this because her room still feels a little tight so in her old room there is no way it would've all fit. I wanted to use the drapes and a few of the decorations from her baby room and here is what we ended up with!
This the bed I slept on when I was little up through college now freshly painted white. The bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids and Land of Nod. I painted the nightstand pink(s) but I found someone to paint the bed and the dresser. She did an awesome job!
This might be my favorite thing in Laurel's room (from Land of Nod). She calls it her "princess fort" and LOVES to play and sit and read in it!
The shelves and decor and bow board are all from her baby room
I love little Hobby Lobby finds. And I also love that these hooks are currently housing her super hero capes (which she wears often).
The tweet tweet pillow was made my one of my very talented friends, Erin and the "L" artwork above her bed was made by another very talented friend, Shauna. Thanks girls for making Laurel's big girl room extra special!
I suppose I should post a picture of the big girl herself in her room, too! We have been shocked at how easy the transition has been for her to her big girl bed. We have a bedrail that hides under the mattress when it isn't being used and with that up, she acts like she is in a crib. She has yet to try to climb out (which is better than when she was in a crib because she tried climbing out of that often). The one thing I was worried about is that when she wakes up, she likes to have time to wake up in her crib/bed where she just sits and looks at books or lays there and talks to herself. I thought for sure being in a bed she would just climb on out. Nope. I often poke my head in after her marathon naps and find her looking at books in bed. Just yesterday, I poked my head in (having not heard a peep yet) and her light was on and she was reading in her "princess fort". It is hard to believe she is such a big girl!

Love all that pink! Adorable.
