Field Trip Wednesdays: Kingwood Country Club

Last week, for our field trip, we headed back out to Kingwood. This time, though, we swam at the country club instead of at Mimi and Bubba's pool. I grew up swimming at this pool but it is no where close to the same! They have changed it completely so now it has a big water slide area and 3 separate pools, one of which is a kid friendly family pool (very shallow in areas) that has a lazy river. I can't believe that it took this long for Micah to discover the fun of the slide. When we first got there, he had to pass a swim test so that he could jump of the diving board and go down the slides. I was a little nervous because the test was pretty tough but he passed it perfectly! I am so proud of him! He had to swim the length of the pool without stopping or touching the side and then he had to tread water. Now that he has passed whenever we go, he gets a wrist band and has free reign. I am so proud of my little swimmer!

All it took was me going down once and then he was sold. We had to drag him away when it was time for lunch.

While he went up and down the slide, Laurel found some steps to play on. This has been her favorite activity of the summer. She likes to go under and kick but only if she can feel a place to stand underneath her...

... under she goes!

As an added bonus to our super fun day, we ran into Micah's old buddy, Kate (and her mom Tiffany and her little sister Ella)! They haven't played together in quite some time but were playgroup pals a couple of years ago. Micah loved getting to play with her (while they both went down the slide over and over) and has already asked when he can play with his friend again!

Having tons of fun with Mimi! We are loving our field trip Wednesdays!
